Fit4Bath Children’s Programme
What is the Fit4Bath Children's Programme?
The Fit4Bath Children’s Programme is a 12-month programme of children’s activities designed to inspire a life-long love of sport in children in the Bath area.
Developed and delivered by Team Bath and Sporting Family Change the programme will include community-based and schools outreach activities held both during school holidays and delivered as part of the school curriculum during term time.
Aimed primarily at 7 – 9-year olds the programme will look to reach the widest group of children possible. Team Bath have a fantastic track record with enthusing kids around sport and Sporting Family Change do a brilliant job at building up trust in harder-to-reach communities, energising kids and families to get active and feel good about life.
The programme will bring together all children each half term at the free Fit4Bath Festival which will be held at the Team Bath Sports Training Village, University of Bath. The festival days will be an opportunity for the children to come up to the Sports Training Village, try a number of different sporting activities, meet Olympic athletes, ask questions, look at medals, sample all the different sports that are available to them.
When will it take place and how can I get involved?
The programme was due to open in August 2020 however due to COVID-19 both the Fit4Bath Challenge and the Fit4Bath Children's Programme has been postpone until early 2021.
Dates will therefore move to 2021 for us to open the holiday time community-based activities run by Sporting Family Change and supported by Team Bath as well as the schools based sessions delivered and led by Team Bath.
Once we are underway again we will make more details about the programme available. We are committed to ensuring that any child participating in the Fit4Bath Children’s Programme will have enormous fun, receive a certificate and will be offered a free trial of any of the Team Bath Tribe classes.
